Frequently Asked Questions For Businesses
Does Konect allow me to schedule sessions/meetings?
Yes, the Konect scheduler is very flexible, similar to Google Calendar. Once a session is scheduled each participant receives a confirming notification with a link to the session.
How does Konect communicate with my customers?
Once a session is scheduled, each participant receives an email and SMS notification. Another notification is sent 15 minutes prior to the agreed time to ensure that everyone is ready. Finally, when the session is initiated in the Konect system a message with a link is immediately sent to the customer and all they need to do is to click on that link to connect, assuming they have already downloaded the Konect+ App
Are the photos of high enough quality to be used at a legal proceeding such as a Rental Tribunal?
Yes, we take the photos directly from the customers camera instead of off the video to ensure that the resolution is high enough.
Konect claims that it is more useful for specific industries, e.g. Real Estate, than other streaming services like Zoom, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams etc….why?
There are some excellent video streaming applications on the market, however, the vast majority are based around video conferencing in general. However, in most industries there are very specific tasks that benefit from having a more tailored solution, often that is around information gathering rather than straight conferencing. Real Estate and Insurance claims are examples. They have legal requirements that must be met and to do so they need more control over the process. More efficient 1-way video with HD photos and a flexible filing structure is highly beneficial. We will continue to release more specific functionality for specific industries in the near future.
Can I pause the video recording if I need to, for example to enter information into an inspection App?
Yes, the recording can be paused by the operator for any reason. We encourage you to do this so when reviewing the recording, you do not have to waste time on finding useful information.
How does my customer join the session?
When you have initiated the session in the Konect system, a message with a link in it is immediately sent to your customer and all they need to do is to click on that link to connect to you, assuming they have already downloaded the Konect+ App, as requested in previous correspondence to them.
Does Konect require mobile data?
Yes, Konect will run on 3G*, 4G, 5G and Wi-fi Networks. Please note normal data usage fees will be applied by your internet / mobile service provider.
*3G is expected to provide degraded stream quality due to bandwidth limitations of the technology.
How much data does a stream use?
Konect streams in HD, however when compared to well-known video streaming options, it uses less data as it is designed to record 1-way video (the consumer/tenant end) and 2-way audio. A full 60 minute video may vary in size and data usage but should be approx. 500 MB.
What is the quality of the video for a Konect Video Streaming Service?
Our Konect video streams in HD at a resolution maximum of 1080p. Based on stream quality it will control the resolution prioritising audio over video and faster video frames updates over quality where required.
Do I need to Download an App for my device?
No, if you are signing up as a Company or Business you will use the Konect Web portal through any supported browser on Desktop PC, Laptop or Mobile Device.
